For the past two years I have produced episodes of my show Beyond the Lake. Feature film director Spike Lee once said at a New York Film school “ … if you want to learn how to be a writer you write books…..if you want to learn how to make films than make films”. In the last two years I have learned to make fishing shows by organizing, writing and directing my own show. I haven’t done it alone. With the help of my good friend Ray Chua, who has 15 years experience in the film industry, he has mentored me since the beginning. Through the years he has seen my determination and has become increasingly involved this past year.
My vision is to create a main stream show that would appeal to the general public and the passionate competitive fishing population. I believe in creating mass appeal to grow the sport and attract new talent. My experience when I talk to the public about fishing tournaments is that they are amazed when they begin to understand all the competitive elements.
Humor and drama are important elements in communicating the personal drive of an angler who wants more than to fish for fun.
We are pleased to anticipate that in 2008 we will begin broadcasting episodes on this site’s webisode page, You Tube and on local television.
