Season progress report

We have had a very ambitious year competing against Canada's best anglers and trying to make the prestigious Bassmania Classic. We also worked hard for our new sponsor EverStart and helped out how every we could to get this program off the ground for the first year.

EverStart traveled across Ontario all summer long and was at every tournament with a 40 foot multimedia trailer. They also made fresh slushies, candy floss and popcorn for the crowds.

In the last week I've been able to update the website and add new videos to my You Tube page.  We have filmed every event this year and have every fish caught during tournaments on film thanks  to two GoPro cameras mounted to the boat.

On Labor Day weekend I was a one man show and filmed the Bassmania Classic in Smith Falls Ontario. The final day weigh-ins were held at the local Walmart store.  You can see the video I produced on the On Tour page from this site.

Kick off for 2011
It was an AWESOME week for Carey, Andrew and Everstart Batteries at the Spring Fishing and Boat Show.  Crowds were swarming around the booth.  Parents and kids were thrilled with the activities.  They had an X-box fishing game for the older kids ,and a little pond for younger ones. In the pond kids caught rubber fishy's with magnets and everyone walked away with a prize including hats, educational fishing videos, and lurers.  For the hardcore anglers Carey and Andrew did what they do best and that's talk fishing.  People admired the new design on Carey's boat featuring his new sponsorship with Everstart.

At this event we connected with many bass clubs and charity organizers.  One event that really struck a cord with use was the Italian Canadian HandiCapable Association from Windsor.  There event will be held for it's ninth year in Windsor down by the Detroit River on May 29th.  Celebrities like Clay Dyer (www.claydyerfishing.com ) and Italo Labignan of the Canadian Sportfishing Show have attended this event.



    

 

Johnson Controls Battery Presentation
                                     
To end 2010 with a bang we hosted the last Downtown Bass Club meeting of the year on December 13.  Carey worked very closely with club president Chris Chappell to bring in special guest speaker Ed Danyluk to share his knowledge on battery design and maintenance. We learnt that the most important specification to look for in a battery is the amp hours.  By knowing how many amps your depth finder draws an hour you can calculate how many hours your battery will last.  The members were very engaged with lots of questions.  It is an area that needs to be discussed and Ed is the man with over 35 years of experience in the industry.


 That night was full of prizes thanks to the generosity of all Carey's sponsors.  Angler of the year was awarded that night to the highly respected Jay Martin.  He received a the coveted club trophy and prizes from Optima Batteries, Ardent Reels and Dickies Work Wear. Raffle prizes were also donated by St. Croix rods.
